Retrieval Practice Improves Learning
Making the brain work for the information you need builds its retrieval "muscle". Rather than copying a lecture verbatim, it's better to format you notes into a list of questions. These questions can then be answered after the lecture to see if the information stuck.
This connects well with [[Learning & Elaboration]] because not only are you using questions to help remember, you are also giving yourself multiple chances to write the information in your own words. Times of reflection can be a good time to practice retrieval. Really get a lot of bang for your buck.
